Sundog Launches New Solar Advice Centre

Sundog Energy is opening an exciting new Solar Advice Centre on Saturday September 22nd at its main offices at North Lakes Business Park, 4 miles west of Penrith.

The new drive-in centre will provide hands-on displays of typical solar PV systems to help dispel the mysteries and explode some of the myths surrounding solar PV with good honest advice, based on more than 16 years renewable energy and solar experience.

Visitors will be able to see first-hand the products that fit together to form a complete solar PV system. The display includes a full sized mock up roof showing how PV panels are mounted on a building, demonstrations of how systems can be integrated with different roof types, and examples of the various system components such as solar PV panels, inverters and monitoring equipment.  Visitors can also view Sundog’s own rooftop PV system in action, a state-of-the-art 14kW system that produces a substantial part of Sundog’s electricity needs as well as providing a lucrative index-linked income.

According to Martin Cotterell “Interest in solar is on the increase and new systems are flying onto roofs everywhere.  With the prospect of ever-increasing electricity bills, the solar proposition becomes more and more compelling.  Yet there is still confusion surrounding the Feed-in Tariff scheme and what the benefits of solar PV really are, which is why the advice centre will provide vital facts to anyone considering solar.”

And it is not just of interest to homeowners either. Small businesses, large commercial companies, farmers and even pension funds are waking up to the attractive financial returns that currently out-perform those from the stock market, banks or any other investment opportunities.  As a result, large-scale solar installations are appearing in all sorts of locations around the country.

On September 22nd the advice centre will be open to all from 10am until 4pm. Following this, Sundog plans to open this valuable facility once a week, every Wednesday between 10am and 4pm. The Solar Advice Centre is located next to Sundog’s main office and warehouse, just off the A66 between Penrith and Keswick, on the North Lakes Business Park.
