Please Your Plug Campaign Aims to Boost Take-up of Solar

The solar industry is planning to launch a national online campaign to boost consumer confidence in solar power. The 'Please Your Plug’ campaign is being launched by Our Solar Future, the campaign first launched to fight cuts to solar subsidies.

For too long now the Solar industry has been getting the rough end of the stick. Cuts to Feed in Tarrifs and declining political and public support have made 2012 a tough year. All in all, it makes for a business environment that is hard not to be frustrated by.

But while this might be the case, now, more than ever, is the time to focus on the fantastic positives of the solar industry and take steps to grow the market we have.

Working with Our Solar Future, the CleanTech team here at CCgroup is setting out to do just this with one of the most ambitious renewable energy campaigns the UK has ever seen. As covered earlier today by Solar Power Portal, ‘Please your plug’ is a nationwide social media campaign that will engage, educate and inform consumers, business owners and investors alike on all of the positives of solar.

Funded by the industry for the industry the campaign, set to launch in early 2013, will use high impact, entertaining and unique online video to drive the audience to a new ‘one stop shop’ with everything a person needs to know about investing in solar. Members of the solar industry – from manufacturers to installers – are being asked to fund the initiative via Our Solar Future.
