Eaton Exhibits PV Solutions for Residential, Commercial and Utilities at Solar Energy UK

Eaton will be attending the Solar Energy UK exhibition, visitors will be able to find out how Eaton’s solutions for the photovoltaic (PV) market complement and integrate with its wider business offering for the buildings and utilities sectors.

As well as offering visitors its expertise, Eaton will also have on show a comprehensive range of products for safe, efficient and sustainable PV systems within the residential, commercial and utility sectors.

At the event, Eaton will be launching a new range of PV surge protection devices. The SPPV family protects systems from overvoltage that can be caused by the indirect effect of lightning. There are a number of options within the range; 600Vdc and 1000Vdc systems in test classes EN 50539-11 PV-T1/T2 and PV-T2 with optional remote indication plus a high performance version for use at re-combiner and inverter level with a high ISCPV of 1000A.

A key focus on the Eaton stand is its PV-DB distribution board. The PV-DB board is fast and easy to install, and offers facilities for the paralleling of both single and three phase inverters. The versatility of the board allows users to select its size depending on the number of inverters and ratings in their systems. Additional features of the board include an MID-certified kWH meter and a four-pole rotary isolator.

Also shown on the Eaton stand this year is the leading-edge PV string combiner box from Bussmann by Eaton, which sets new standards in the protection, switching and monitoring of PV systems.  Fully customisable, the Bussmann by Eaton combiner box can be configured as a simple 2 string unit for residential systems, up to 32 strings with monitoring for utility scale systems. Using the Bussmann by Eaton components the combiner box ensures safe protection against overcurrent and overvoltage and is designed for voltages up to 1000Vdc. GRP enclosures and IP65 protection make the Bussmann by Eaton combiner box the right choice for UK PV systems large and small.

Eaton understands that no two PV installations are the same, thus the PV string combiner box has been developed to be fully customisable. At this year’s event Eaton is exhibiting the combiner box range for three key PV markets, residential (<50Kw), commercial (>50kW – 5MW) and utility (ground mount large scale 5MW and upwards). The combiner box has been through rigorous third party testing (TUV Rhineland) to ensure the product meets the requirements for product safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), making the Bussmann by Eaton technology an ideal choice for PV protection in residential, commercial and utility installations.
