Solarsense Installation For University of Nottingham Shortlisted For National Award

We pride ourselves on providing cutting edge projects; from design through to installation and monitoring, we place a large emphasis on quality and innovation, ensuring all of the systems that we install are to the highest quality.

We are delighted therefore to announce that the University of Nottingham solar PV installation has been short-listed for "Best Project" in this year's British Renewable Energy Awards.

University of Nottingham: Sustainable Chemistry Building
We have completed a plethora of notable projects in 2016, however, the University of Nottingham system stands above the rest in terms of design, complexity & aesthetics.

Design Considerations
The bespoke system was designed to displace the CO2 expended in the construction of the building allowing it to be completely carbon neutral over its lifetime. On top of this the excess energy created by the building has been designed to provide heating to the nearby office development on campus.

The system includes traditional roof mounted solar panels but also incorporates building integrated solar photovoltaic (BIPV) in the form of semi-transparent glass roof lights above the winter garden feature of the building.

System Details:
Client: Morgan Sindall / University of Nottingham
Sector: Schools & Education
System Size: 230.91 kWp
Estimated Annual Output: 203,018 kWh
Annual CO2 Emissions Offset: 119.5 tonnes
