Carmarthenshire Solar Power Plan Seeking Views

Vattenfall, the European energy company, is calling on local people close to a planned Carmarthenshire solar project to comment on its plans.

The Swedish state-owned developer of the Parc Cynog Solar Array submitted its plans in August to Carmarthenshire County Council. The application was made after local people near to Castle Lloyd Farm visited the site, which is close to Vattenfall’s Parc Cynog Wind Farm.

Daniel Wills, Vattenfall’s Associate Project Manager for the Parc Cynog Solar Array, said: “Projects like the Parc Cynog Solar Array can help Wales’ move towards a low carbon economy. They can also support Vattenfall’s shift to more sustainable energy. It’s for these reasons that we want to explore the full renewables potential of the site.

“We’ve had positive feedback so far and so we’ve made an application for a 5MW solar array to the County Council and we hope that the community will take the opportunity to comment.”
