If you’ve been contemplating installing a solar PV system on your own roof but are not quite sure how it would look, here’s an example of a housing estate that has recently used our roof integrated solution. Integrated solutions offer an aesthetically pleasing option above and beyond those that ‘bolt on’ top of your roof.
Housebuilder Chase Green Developments decided to use Redland’s Mini Stonewold Solar PV Tiles in conjunction with Redland Mini Stonewold slates on their three houses and 33 apartments at heir development in Palmers Green, North London.
In total 132 solar PV tiles are installed across the site, with a total power output of 11.88kWp.This helped the housebuilder satisfy planning requirements for a 20% offset in CO2 emissions.
Of course, they’re a range of tiles and solar PV options on the market to choose from. However, always remember to use a trusted installer to work on your roof and when choosing one to install solar technology make sure they’re MCS certified.
