Myriad CEG Provide PV System for Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College

Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College is a place of exciting and quick development.  They provide outstanding education, which is shown in their OFSTED reports and GCSE and A level results.

Natural growth and success in their academic results led the college to expand their building facilities and Myriad CEG were approached by Briggs & Forrester to provide support in the design and supply of the PV system for this new facility.

System Details:
•  Predicted Output:  16,655 kWh per annum
•  Estimated CO² saving:  9,460 kgs per annum
•  Feed-in Tariff rate:  31.4p per kWh
•  Estimated FiT Income:  £5,230 per annum

The Requirement:
Myriad CEG, together with the Energy Consultant, Environment Engineering Partnership, was able to build and develop an initial system design that met all the stipulations made by the client and fulfilled the requirement to incorporate renewable energy to comply with the sustainable energy code.

After being introduced to the M&E consultant, Elementa Consulting, our design team went into `overdrive’ to produce final working designs that included all elements of the installation including cable sizes and spare fuses required. The overall target was to save 9,000 kgs of CO² per annum based on SAP2005.

The Solution
Working with Briggs & Forrester, Myriad CEG was able to provide a final system specification that met all the detailed requirements of the client and successfully conquered the challenges of a working site, such as a limited amount of roof space due to other plant equipment. The CO² target was met by using Schuco ballasted mounting equipment and 108 Sharp 185w panels and through detailed design of the panel layout on the roof.

Kevin Watson, Senior Associate Director, Environment Engineering Partnership “Myriad CEG, supported lead consultant EEP across all elements of the PV design and installation to deliver a successful extension scheme at Norbury Manor Business & Enterprise Centre, Thornton Heath, Surrey. Their keen interest in our project was matched by their excellent input and advice at pre-contract & delivery stage including support to attain the client a grant for the system via LCBP. Their work on site has been safe and to a high standard and we would be happy to recommend Myriad CEG”
