The securing of solar panel roof bracket onto timber roofs where insulating material is fixed below requires innovative fixings.
As low-strength insulating materials cannot withstand compressive loads, such as the additional weight of the solar panel, roof tiles or snow loads.
Even when using pressure resistant insulating material it is always necessary to offset the additional compressive load i.e. to transfer the load through the counter batten and insulating material into the rafters.
With this in mind the new HECO-TOPIX®-T Solar in stainless steel with its innovative under head thread is the ideal solution. The patented thread enables a secure fixing by means of screws secured at defined intervals. The under head thread of the HECO-TOPIX®-T Solar prevents the compressive forces from pressing on the insulating material, instead of transmitting them via the screw into the rafters. Additional shear loads can also be transmitted using partially threaded screws (angle of screw to roof pitch = 60°). The tried and tested HECO-TOPIX® point also prevents any risk of the counter batten splitting.
