1500VDC Rated Surge-Trap PV Surge Protective Device From Mersen (2)

STP T2 PVMersen Electrical Power enlarges their HelioProtection® Program with this 1500VDC Surge Protective Device for protecting large PV production plants.

This solution is part of the commitment to supporting product development and expansion of the solar market into 1500VDC systems. Mersen has a comprehensive portfolio of 1500VDC PV electrical power components, which includes string and array NH style fuses, supporting fuse gear, surge protective devices (SPDs), power distribution blocks (PDBs), and DC switches.

The new STPT2 series for 1500VDC provide advanced overvoltage protection to photovoltaic systems by utilizing Mersen’s optimized dynamic thermal disconnection system, which does not require additional overcurrent protection (back-up fuse) due to its high short-circuit withstand rating. These surge protective devices are suitable for all PV applications: large-scale and self-consumption (off-grid) DC installations.

The reversible chassis feature allows cable entry from top or bottom providing more flexibility to the installation.

The device is DIN-rail mountable and of plug-in format. The coded pluggable cartridge avoids replacement errors.

The maximum discharge current at 8/20µs is 40kA and the nominal rating is 15kA.
